The Arizona Early Education Funds (AEEF) were recently established at the Arizona Community Foundation (ACF) and with partnering organizations across Arizona, to help communities build the quality and capacity of early care and education programs for children birth to age five. These funds were established with the support of Governor Janet Napolitano and the Arizona School Readiness Board (ASRB). Funding strategies will be targeted to support the ASRB Action Plan and will be designed to build both statewide and regional support for a comprehensive system of early care and education. The fund will be partially endowed and partially spendable, and funds will be distributed across Arizona.

Your Support is Critical

First Things First-Proposition 203 will support regional councils.

When will the funding flow into the newly established regional councils?

In 2009.

What will happen to the smaller communities in the meantime?

The Arizona Early Education Funds funded regional partnerships in all 15 Arizona counties. We also funded the technical assistance needed to work with the partnerships, particularly in rural counties to assist in capacity building, community assessment and program enhancement. These partnerships will continue working together in order to build a successful early childhood education system.

AEEF asks for your support to keep these partnerships moving forward.

With the funding for TAs ending in July 2007, we have noted a funding gap. Your support for the partnerships will help us carry on through April 2008 by doing the following:
